In a medium mixing bowl mix together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and brown sugar.
Add buttermilk, eggs, and melted butter (or oil) and stir until combined. There may be lumps, that's okay!
Place a frying pan on medium heat or a griddle on medium heat. Put a tbsp of butter onto the hot surface and wait until it melts and spread it around to cover the surface where the pancakes will be cooking. Pour about 1/3 cup of batter to make one pancake, into the hot pan. Flip the pancake once it's bubbling on top and cook until golden brown. Place on a plate and repeat the steps until the batter is gone. You should get 8 medium-sized pancakes out of the batter.
